Traditional Indian balanced diet.

There is a well-established strong evidence base to propagate the traditional Indian diet as it is wholesome in itself to provide all the essential nutrients (both macro and micro) that one needs. The trending diets are fad diets (other than the Mediterranean and DASH Diet ofcourse – components of which are already included in a balanced diet), that only have a short tem impact, are usually not sustainable and very little is known about their long term implications.

It is ideal to obtain all the nutrients through food itself instead of popping any pill. Only if the client is a vegetarian or a vegan (a supplement to meet the daily vitamin B12 requirement) or has a physiological condition that demands nutrients that cannot be met via the diet alone, it is only then that the supplements will be recommended.

You can reach out to Dr. Roy for consultation for any nutrition related issue.

All fellow Indians living in India.

Once you have registered for consultation, you will be redirected to go through the terms and conditions. When you will agree to the aforementioned and make the payment, the next step will be to fill up the questionnaire that will contain all the details required to craft your nutrition regime. It will be followed by a lifestyle log form – that will ask you to provide atleast four days of information regarding everything you eat and drink in a day, with water intake and your physical activity routine. As soon as your log form is completed after four days of inputs on diet and physical activity, your consultation be held within the next two working days. The only exception that can end up taking more than two days is if some routine blood tests might be recommended prior to consultation should you be having a significant medical history of a lifestyle disorder that may warrant looking into the blood parameters prior to framing your nutrition plan. However, if you have had recent blood tests or the reports are less than four months old, then there would be no need for same.

Your personalized nutrition plan will take into consideration a lot many factors. For instance, your age, gender, medical history, underlying conditions, body measurements, blood profile, food preferences, lifestyle and your nutritional requirements based on the Recommended Dietary Guidelines for Indians 2020 by Indian Council of Medical Research. The menu will also take into consideration as to what is available in your pantry. No out of the blue food items will be included. What is already there in your kitchen will be moulded and blended to meet your nutritional needs for the day, keeping your daily lifestyle in mind.

Through tele communication.

After your first consultation, you will be required to maintain logs, on similar lines to the ones you fill prior to consultation, to track your progress during the follow ups. Logging also helps you to make informed choices and helps you stay motivated.

It depends on the degree to which you feel your nutritional upkeep is a felt need that will determine how much of change your incorporate as per the suggested nutrition plan. Moreover, it takes time, effort and motivation for a steady progress towards the goal. Metabolically suited targets that are not only achievable but sustainable too will be set. There are no short cuts of popping pills, going on crash diets or fad diets or starving oneself for healthy living. If you are looking for short term stop gap arrangements, then this is certainly not the right place for you.

Once you achieve the goal or the target, you will be put on a maintenance diet to sustain the results. This is so because complacency usually sets in at this stage and the likelihood of a relapse to previous unhealthy behaviour goes up.
